Public IP versus private IP
A public IP is the internet-facing address used by your connection. A private IP identifies
a device inside a local network and commonly uses ranges such as 192.168.x.x or
10.x.x.x. This tool shows public addresses; it cannot read a device's private
LAN address from the browser.
Why IPv6 may be unavailable
Some internet providers, VPNs, routers, and corporate networks do not provide working IPv6 connectivity. An unavailable IPv6 result does not necessarily mean the browser or tool is broken—it can simply indicate that the current route is IPv4-only.
